you do not need to heat the oil or the final product. Waste of time, and you risk damaging the hormone. The filtering with the whatman and the BA is all you need. 0.5% BA is enough to destroy any bacteria/fungi in it. therefore 3% is more than enough. Just make sure you order USP grade Oil and you will be fine. Some guys use store bought oil and "sterilize" it themselves, but dont waste your time. Just make sure you have a good whatman filter sterile oil, some BA, and some BB for products that don't hold suspension very well

The oil wont boil over with the top off?

Also, when you heat your sterile oil to add to the hormone and BA, do you add the oil when its hot, or do you let it cool before adding it?

No, oil will not boil at 250 nor would it be hot enough to fry something in.
Some people combine them and heat to sterilize all together. If not I add my oil while it is still hot. It goes through the whatman easier.

I've also done it the way wolfy suggested and had no problems.
