I am a 35 year old male. 5' 10" weight approx 250lbs.

I was tested low for testosterone so my Dr. put me on injectable shots 200MG every 2 weeks.

The drug is DELATESTRYL made by SAVIENT PHARMACEUTICALS and it is TESTOSTERONE ENANTHATE in sesame oil.

My tested level before shots was 210.

What will this do for me? Is this the same steriods I hear that atheletes take?

If I start to work out what gains would I achevie? Is there anything I should be concerned or aware about while taking this. I am a little on the heavy side also.

Any response is greatly appreciated as I know very little about steroids.

Thanks

CH

..well you'll have slight gains as would anyone that works out on a regular basis..key would be CArdio and Diet in order for you to really see anything...Gains would be minimal, big guy like urself, you'll be a lil vascular...again, depends on whether you wanna drop a couple pounds of fat and add muscle at the same time..

I advise getting a new doctor. Testosterone enanthate is meant to be taken at least once a week... preferably twice. If you have problems finding a good doctor that will prescribe you twice a week testosterone shots, PM me and I can refer you to a Longevity Clinic that should take good care of you. I also hope that your doctor included anti-e's and HCG in your HRT...

To directly answer your question, yes, test enanthate is one of the anabolic/androgenic steroid the bodybuilders use to develop muscle.

I too am on HRT and I can tell you from experience that the amounts the Doctor will give you are designed to get your hormone levels back into the mid range of normal.

Different Doctors use different scales, but one of them and the one I like to use is that a normal range is anywhere from 300 to 1000ng/dl of blood.
Some Doctors recognize now that anything under 400 may need replacement.

The goal of HRT is to get your levels of test between 500 and 600. Any male can function quite normally in that range.

A normal male produces up to 70mg of test per week, so by providing you with 200mg every two weeks, once you remove the ester weight from that amount, all you have done is replaced normal levels.

In all honesty, normal levels of test will allow you to lose weight and tone up, but is generally not enough to produce significant amounts of muscle, especially in someone 35 or older.

The amounts required to build muscle start at about 4 times to normal amount to higher. That translates to 400mg per week minimum to start building muscle.

I noticed that you also made the statement "while taking this".
Many people are under the mistaken belief that they can go on HRT and at some point quit and will have regained normal levels.
Not so.
Once your hormone levels drop, unless it's stress related, they will never recover.
In other words, HRT is forever.
If it is stress related there is no need to go on HRT because 1.normals will recover on their own and 2. you run the risk of causing permanent shut down and requiring life long HRT anyway.
If you are seeing a doctor who thinks you might recover, you need to find another doctor.

I agree.--however Im sure the physician is treating for low test levels and trying to regulate it with that dosage.(which could be increased)
if the Dr was treating thier patient for LBM or to win a competiton the dosage protocol would be something a little different...
Absolutely get a second opinion, and if Pharma-X is on HRT for real under supervision, then by all means he knows what hes talking about.
p.s.hell,Im on HRT--I'm half licensed to practice and I self medicate because at my age you damn well realize the benefits of it (HRT)

MOSHPIT, is your doctor a primary care physician? IM?

If so, I strongly suggest you go see a specialist (ENDOCRINOLOGIST) because I agree with the others -- it sounds like this doc doesnt know what he is doing....

(not for Kell) Also, be very skeptical of the medical community as many dont know what the f*ck they're doing....
