Dosage Question

Sorry for my ignorance
When I see a product were the label shows the following
500mg/2ML

This means it contains
2 ML of 500mg / in other words I can use

today 1 ml of 500 ? next week another 1ml of 500mg ?

or the 500mg is if I use the 2ml one time ( 250 mg per 1 ml) ?
